Will a Smoothie for Constipation Actually Work?
Constipation can be incredibly frustrating, so you want to make sure whatever you try is really going to do the trick.
We’ve created two delicious smoothies for constipation that contain both prebiotics and probiotics.
What do prebiotics and probiotics have to do with constipation?
Well, constipation is associated with an imbalanced gut microbiome (the collection of bacteria and other microorganisms that live in your intestines).
Prebiotics and probiotics can help to rebalance an imbalanced microbiome, and can often help relieve constipation.
In particular, a prebiotic called Sunfiber has a lot of benefits when it comes to constipation.
Sunfiber prebiotic helps to regulate the movement of food through the digestive tract, moving it at the right pace.
So when you’re trying to relieve constipation, adding in probiotics -- and even more importantly, prebiotics -- is really important. (Want to learn more about why prebiotics and probiotics can help you poop? Check out this article.)
