Here's what you'll need for our recipe.

Equipment:

  • Stove
  • Small or medium size sauce pot
  • Thermometer
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Glass jar with a lid
  • Medium sized bowl
  • Vessel that can hold a temperature between 110 degrees and 120 degrees (yogurt maker, instant pot, crock pot, or an oven that can reach this temperature through either a light or a bread proofing setting)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 scoops Gut Power flavor of your choice — Matcha, Cocoa, or Cranberry Lime

Directions:

  1. Bring the milk to a very light simmer in a sauce pot, until it hits 180 degrees, stirring occasionally so it doesn’t scorch on the bottom. Remove from heat and let cool until it falls to somewhere between 110 to 120 degrees.
  2. Place the two scoops of Gut Power in a medium sized bowl and pour in a bit of the hot milk, whisking until the powder dissolves into the liquid. Pour the remaining milk in and whisk until combined.
  3. Pour the Gut Power and milk mixture into a pint or quart jar—this can be easiest to do with a funnel or a ladle. Place the lid on and put the jar in a fermentation vessel set to 110 degrees for 24 hours.
  4. After 24 hours, remove the jar from the fermentation vessel and tilt the jar sideways to see if it has fully set. If the yogurt is still running up the sides of the jar, let it ferment for another 8 to 12 hours. When it’s fully set, place the jar in the refrigerator to cool.
  5. When you're ready to consume, give the yogurt a good mix — depending on the Gut Power flavor you chose, the flavoring may not be fully soluble (for example, matcha and cocoa), so stirring with recombine these flavors with your yogurt.
  6. Enjoy!
